OCR / Image to Text
Turn a clear scan or screenshot into editable text for a working draft. Runs locally — pick a language and extract.
Best on clear scans and screenshots. First run downloads a language pack in your browser (cached after that). Review the text before you rely on it as a working draft.
Extract text from scans with private OCR
DropToSolve runs Tesseract OCR in your browser so scanned contracts, receipts, and screenshots stay on your device. Choose a document language — the language pack downloads once and is cached locally. Use the result as a working draft and review before you rely on it.
How to use it
- Drop an image or a short PDF scan.
- Select the document language (English is default; other packs download on first use).
- Click Extract text, then copy or download a .txt draft.
When it helps
Turning a clear scan into editable text for Word/Docs drafts, notes, or search — without uploading the file to a server.
FAQ
- Is my document uploaded?
- No. Recognition runs in your browser. Language packs are downloaded from a public OCR CDN and cached by the browser.
- How accurate is it?
- Good on clear, high-contrast scans and screenshots. Skewed photos, handwriting, and dense multi-column layouts are weaker — always proofread.
- Which languages are supported?
- English plus a curated list (Romanian, French, German, Spanish, and more). Pick one; optionally also load English for mixed documents.
- Can I OCR a long PDF?
- Yes for short scans (up to 15 pages). Split longer PDFs first with Split PDF.
- Does it keep the original layout?
- No — you get plain text suitable for a draft, not a pixel-perfect replica of the page.
