Resize images for the web and social posts

Huge phone photos slow down sites and get cropped oddly in social templates. Setting width deliberately makes layouts predictable.

Resize locally when you do not want a full-resolution personal photo sitting on a third-party image host just to change dimensions.

Practical approach

1. Decide the max width you need (for example 1200px for blog heroes).
2. Resize with aspect ratio locked so nothing stretches.
3. Compress afterward if the file is still heavy for email or CMS upload.

Upscaling warning

Making a small image larger cannot invent sharp detail. Prefer capturing or exporting at a higher resolution when quality matters.
